In the previous two articles, we briefly thought about the future path of 3D cameras, including the most
popular TOF technology. The following is an introduction to Xiaoyou's own 3D camera technology and
future thinking on this technology route.
First of all, the technical core of Xiaoyou's 3D camera is dynamic structured light. Why is it called dynamic
structured light? It is mainly through projecting different stripe structured light onto the surface of the
object, and then solving the relevant depth information through relevant algorithms.
Corresponding to dynamic structured light is static structured light, which is mainly represented by speckle
structured light. By projecting a certain number of speckles onto the surface of the object, the relevant
depth information is solved.
Dynamic structured light is slow because it needs to project different pictures onto the surface of the
object. The corresponding static structured light is relatively simple and extremely fast, and can achieve
real-time 3D.
In terms of accuracy, dynamic structured light 3D cameras can achieve extremely high accuracy, which is also impossible for static structured light.
Therefore, for 3D cameras, Xiaoyou represents future accuracy, and speckle represents future speed. The two roads coexist in parallel.
